FGD gypsum vacuum belt cloth is a variant of horizontal vacuum belt filter cloth, specified for flue-gas desulfurization gypsum dewatering.

This is a child of the HVBF cloth family, not another name for it. An FGD gypsum belt and a phosphogypsum belt run on the same class of machine but carry different duties — different slurry chemistry, different wash requirement — so they are specified as different belts. Not The Same Belt

FGD gypsum vs phosphogypsum

Both are gypsum and both dewater on a horizontal vacuum belt, but they arrive from different processes with different chemistry, so the cloth is specified differently. If you run both, do not assume one spare belt covers the other line.

Material & Construction

Weave and polymer are chosen from your duty

Cloth polymer is chosen from your slurry chemistry — pH, temperature and particle size — not from a one-size catalog. In FGD service the chloride level and the wash regime are part of that decision, which is why we ask for them on the RFQ.

We do not publish cake-release, life or throughput figures for a weave. Those depend on the construction finally specified for your duty, and we would rather state that than print a number you cannot hold us to.

Seams & Edges

The seam is matched to your existing belt

Clipper, PAD, spiral and overlap seams are fabricated to match the belt you are replacing. A close-up photo of your current seam is the fastest way for us to quote correctly.

Clipper

Photograph the hook strip and both pin ends.

PAD

Photograph the full joint across the belt width.

Spiral

Photograph the coil and the connecting rod.

Overlap

Photograph the overlap area and both belt edges.

Edge treatment (edge seal and similar) is specified with the seam. The exact seam and edge constructions our mill runs are being confirmed in writing and are not listed here yet.

Upper limits on width and length are confirmed per RFQ. We would rather confirm your dimension than advertise a range we have not put in writing.

The specific test method names, and which steps run in our own mill for each cloth family, are being confirmed in writing and will be published once they are — we do not print a standard number we have not verified. Failure Modes

What goes wrong on a vacuum belt

A failure is not automatically a cloth failure. Root causes split between the cloth, the machine and the process — we will tell you when it is the machine, because a new belt will not fix it.
