Eight failure patterns, each taken apart into cloth causes, machine causes and process causes. Where the fault sits in the machine or the process we say so — selling you a belt that cannot fix it helps nobody.
Belt Tracking
Wandering or wrinkling belt, edge contact, vacuum loss at the seal.
Seam / Joint Failure
Clipper leak, PAD seam separation, vacuum drop across the joint.
Blinding / Clogging
Throughput falls, cake comes off wetter, washing no longer restores the cloth.
Short Cloth Life
Belts changed far sooner than planned, with no single obvious cause.

What "replacement cloth, built to your dimensions" actually means
A filter belt is not a catalogue item. Two plants in the same industry can run the same machine and still need different cloth, because the slurry chemistry, the particle size distribution, the wash regime and the temperature are different — and because the machine itself has been rebuilt, re-tensioned and re-guided over its life. So the starting point is never a model number. It is the belt you are taking off.
That is why the first thing we ask for is a photograph of the old cloth and its seam. The seam tells us the joint construction the machine is set up for — clipper, PAD, spiral or overlap — and the wear pattern tells us what actually killed the last belt, which is usually a different story from the one in the purchase order. Width and developed length settle the size. The slurry and the failure mode settle everything else.
If you have no old cloth because the line is new, that is a different conversation and we will say so rather than quoting blind against a drawing we have not seen.

Phosphogypsum is not FGD gypsum
Both are calcium sulphate and both come off a horizontal vacuum belt filter, which is why they get sold as one "gypsum belt". They come from entirely different plants. Phosphogypsum is the by-product of wet-process phosphoric acid production at a fertilizer plant, and the literature describes that stream as fluoride-bearing. FGD gypsum comes out of a wet-lime scrubber at a power station, and that stream is described as chloride-bearing. Sinter-plant flue-gas desulphurisation produces a third by-product again.
Cloth manufacturers that publish their ranges split these into separate belt classes rather than offering one gypsum belt. We keep them on separate pages for the same reason, and when an enquiry says only "gypsum" the first thing we do is ask which one.
